This episode is believed to be a year late too, and June 19th wasn’t father’s day anywhere in 2015.
It seems so perfect though since many of the fan theories involve the crew being kidnapped and June 19th being fathers day… in America, but this show is British, so it’s likely the Father’s Day timing was just a coincidence. So what is the significance of June 19th? We don’t know yet! Many fans believe that June 19th, 2016 is when the final episode of Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared is released, but as of this writing (9pm PST, June 18th) the final episode is not yet out. It’s glitch, it’s silly, and it gives many clues as to what’s happening below. If you haven’t watched the shows yet, I’ve embedded them all at the bottom of this post, but if you are just wanting to watch one and see if you like it or not, I highly recommend watching episode 4… the episode about computers. In fact, the show comes across mostly as just a dark parody of popular kids shows like Sesame Street and Blues Clues, but there’s definitely something going on under the surface. The characters are all unnamed and little is given about their backstory.

Throughout episodes one through five, the astute observer can spot the some variation of 6/19 appears dozens of times… once even on a “still missing” poster which shows all 3 of the main characters. In the opening scene of Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared we see a calendar prominently displayed over the three main characters. Edit: The 6th episode is out now and I’ve added it to the bottom of this page… but now I’m wondering if it’s a two-parter.
